App: Gita AI: Saathi | Effective: 29 April 2026 | Last updated: 29 April 2026
Atharva Kulkarni ("we", "us", or "our") operates the mobile application Gita AI: Saathi (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the App.
By using the App you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide
- Account information — when you sign in with email/password, Google, or Apple ID, we receive your email address, display name, and a unique authentication identifier.
- Chat messages — text you send to the in-app AI ("Sanjaya"). Messages are stored locally on your device and transmitted to our AI provider for response generation.
- Bookmarks and journal entries — verses you save and reflections you record. Stored locally; not uploaded to our servers.
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Device information — device model, iOS version, language, region, app version, and an anonymized device identifier (used for crash reports).
- Usage data — feature interactions (chapter views, chats sent, ads viewed) collected through Firebase Analytics in aggregated and anonymized form.
- Advertising identifier (IDFA) — only after you grant permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt. Used by Google AdMob to serve relevant ads. You can revoke permission anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Crash logs — collected via Firebase Crashlytics to diagnose and fix bugs. Logs do not include personal data or message content.
1.3 Payments
In-app purchases (Gita AI Premium subscriptions) are processed entirely by Apple's App Store / StoreKit. We never receive, see, or store your payment card details, billing address, or Apple ID password. We only receive a transaction receipt confirming the subscription is active.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate you and keep you signed in.
- To deliver AI responses to your questions about the Bhagavad Gita.
- To remember your bookmarks, daily verse, language preference, and subscription status.
- To show ads to free-tier users (premium users see no ads).
- To diagnose crashes and improve app stability.
- To enforce daily free-chat limits and apply rewarded-ad bonus credits.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. Third-Party Services
The App integrates the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy.
4. Data Storage and Retention
- Authentication data is stored on Google Firebase servers.
- Chat history, bookmarks, and journal entries are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData.
- Chat messages older than 7 days are automatically deleted from your device.
- Usage analytics are retained for up to 14 months by Firebase.
- Crash logs are retained for up to 90 days.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the third-party services listed in Section 3, strictly to operate the App. We may also disclose data when legally required (court order, regulatory request, or to protect rights and safety).
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.
